Catherine studied Music Education and Jazz Music at Edith Cowan University, completing her principal performance studies in jazz voice at the Western Australian Academy of Performing Arts.

 

She is a passionate music educator with a great love for working with young musicians, and enjoys maintaining a regular recording and performing schedule as a solo artist. Performance highlights include shows at the Montreux Jazz Festival in Switzerland, Euro Disney in Paris, and Fringe World Festival in Perth.

Catherine holds a Bachelor of Arts in Music Education and a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Music from Edith Cowan University, and a Master of Educational Leadership from the University of Western Australia.

Catherine has been fortunate to study under the wonderful tutelage of some of Australia’s best musical educators, and perform on international stages. She is indebted to her parents, teachers and professional peers, as much of her love for music has flourished through the many outstanding opportunities afforded to her throughout her education. Catherine has sung in the Gondwana Chorale, Australia’s national youth choir, performed lead vocals with the Western Australian Youth Jazz Orchestra, and played viola in the Western Australian Doctor's Orchestra and Western Australian Youth Orchestra, touring with them to Asia in 2009.

Catherine has released three studio albums and two jazz EPs. In addition to her position as a secondary school Music Teacher, she is a Senior Tutor and conductor with the Australian Girls Choir in Perth, and is pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy through the Graduate School of Education at the University of Western Australia.
